    TAHEDO is a non-governmental organization established in 2020 .It was registered under Tanzania\u2019s NGO Act of 2002 to operate\u00a0 across Tanzania Mainland.
    The organization focuses on heritage conservation, awareness campaigns, research, community empowerment and development . This is usually accomplished with variety of activities that empower the youths to take positive action through education, mobilization ,capacity building and raising awareness to take advantage of opportunities leading to socio-economic improvement and sustainable development individually and collectively.

                TAHEDO is pursuant of its enshrined hereinabove will carry out any of the functions enumerated hereunder<\/p>

                1. Conducting seminars, workshops and training to disseminate information, knowledge and skills for capacity building and empowering vulnerable youths.<\/li>
                2. Carrying out public discussions and presentations through the mass media to address heritage management issues and create a joint hand rescue with different stakeholders<\/li>
                3. Creating and maintaining worldwide communication networks, partnership and friendships with various donors, companies, organizations, associations and individual groups for support.<\/li>
                4. Conducting appropriate village, ward, division, district, regional and national community fundraising programs for the purpose of generating funds to support community in the respective areas.<\/li>

                    A ) Conservation<\/h3>

                    TAHEDO is dedicated to protecting Tanzania\u2019s rich cultural and natural heritage for future generations. We implement sustainable conservation programs that preserve heritage sites, traditions, and community knowledge threatened by environmental change, urbanization, and neglect. By working closely with local communities and stakeholders, we strengthen ownership, resilience, and long-term protection of valuable heritage resources. For over 5 years\u00a0 we have so far conducted different conservation activities across Dar es Salaam city such programmes includes:<\/p>

                    We believe awareness is the first step toward lasting change. TAHEDO delivers impactful campaigns, training, and outreach programs that educate communities\u2014especially youth\u2014on the importance of heritage preservation and sustainable development. Through digital platforms, public events, and community engagement, we inspire action, build pride, and encourage active participation. Our promotion initiatives create opportunities for communities while strengthening cultural identity and sustainable livelihoods.<\/p>

                    TAHEDO conducts high-quality research to generate knowledge that supports heritage conservation and community development. Our studies document cultural resources, identify challenges, and provide evidence-based solutions for policy and action. Through partnerships with universities, experts, and communities, we ensure our research creates\u00a0 In addition, our team has successfully published research papers in reputable international journals, contributing to global academic discourse and raising the profile of Tanzania\u2019s heritage sector on the international stage.<\/p>

                    1. E) Art exhibitions<\/li><\/ol>

                      Tahedo , positioned at the intersection of cultural expression, public education, and social advocacy. Rather than functioning as purely aesthetic events, these exhibitions operate as communication platforms\u2014translating complex social issues into accessible, visual narratives that can engage diverse audiences across literacy levels.<\/p>

                      A practical example is Art Exhibition for Albinism Awareness<\/em>, implemented in collaboration with Pamoja Tunaweza Project ( PTP)\u00a0 and the National Museum of Tanzania under the Museum Art Explosion Program. This exhibition curated artworks that reflected the lived experiences, challenges, and resilience of people with albinism, using visual storytelling to humanize an issue often misunderstood or stigmatized.<\/p>

                      • Awareness and Education:<\/strong> The exhibition increased public understanding of Albinism, addressing misconceptions and highlighting its scientific, social, and human rights dimensions.<\/li>

                        TAHEDO implements innovative and community-centered projects that promote heritage conservation, research, awareness, and sustainable development. Our projects are designed to address local challenges while creating long-term social and economic impact. By working with communities, schools, institutions, and development partners, we deliver practical solutions that empower youth, strengthen livelihoods, and protect cultural heritage for future generations.                         As we look forward to strengthening and establishing more partnerships and friendships the organization has established partnerships with local and international bodies, including: Government institutions, NGOs, community organizations, Universities, research institutions and Cultural heritage organizations<\/p>

                        Examples of the organizations that we had worked with as an organization;
                        Hamburg city in the ministry of culture and media under sister partnership between Dar es Salaam city council\u00a0 and Hamburg city<\/p>

                        We have members of ICOM who are members of TAHEDO and it is an honor to our organization that our member Zuhura Mtenguzi is.<\/p>

                        We have collaborated with National Museum of Tanzania , DUHASA ( Daresalaam University Heritage and Archaeology Students Association, and Pamoja Tunaweza Projects (an initiative by women in Tanzania which works in Albinism Advocacy)<\/p>
